David M. Shepherd, Douglas A. Motley, Nicholas L. Hammonds, and J. Gregory Ellis are the principals of Rockford Capital Partners. They have more than 40 years of experience in real estate investment, acquisition, development, management, leasing, sales, corporate and project finance, project design and permitting, facility operations, and construction and investment management.
David M. Shepherd
David Shepherd is active in both real estate and finance. He founded Delaware Offices to develop and manage commercial real estate and is a co-founder of Monadnock Capital Management, a member of the Nasdaq PHLX.
David graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelors of Foreign Service and the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia with a Masters of Business Administration. David is a CFA Charter holder and serves on the Board of Directors of the CFA Society of Philadelphia and the YMCA of Delaware.
Douglas A. Motley
Mr. Motley is currently a Principal at Rockford Capital Management, LLC and Rockford Capital Management South, LLC and brings more than 17 years of experience in real estate and corporate finance to the Partnership.
Prior to founding Rockford in 2008, he served as Chief Financial Officer of a diversified real estate development firm. Previously, Doug held various management positions in corporate finance and business unit strategy as a Vice President at MBNA Corp (Bank of America). Doug is also Principal of Jack Lingo Asset Management, a leading residential and commercial real estate development firm in coastal Delaware. He is a licensed real estate salesperson in the State of Delaware, and a financial partner in Broadpoint Construction which is a commercial construction management and general contracting company.
Mr. Motley graduated magna cum laude from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in Economics, is a member of the Private Equity CFO Association, and is a CFA Charterholder. He was also nominated by Governor Carney to sit on the Council on Housing for the State of Delaware.
Nicholas L. Hammonds
Mr. Hammonds is a Principal at Rockford Capital Management, LLC and Rockford Capital Management South, LLC and has more than 15 years of experience in financial services and real estate investment, development, and operations.
Previously, he served as Chief Operating Officer of a diversified real estate development firm. His responsibilities included oversight of companywide operations, including legal, project management, leasing, property management, and sales across a $200 million portfolio of commercial and residential assets. Nick is also Principal of Jack Lingo Asset Management, a leading residential and commercial real estate development firm in coastal Delaware. He is a licensed real estate salesperson in the State of Delaware, and a financial partner in Broadpoint Construction which is a commercial construction management and general contracting company.
Prior to his career in real estate development and investment, he held management positions at MBNA America (Bank of America) operations including Credit Acquisition, Loss Prevention, and Customer Service.
Mr. Hammonds graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland with a degree in Economics. He is active in the community and serves as a member of several nonprofit boards which include the Delaware Boys and Girls Club Board of Trustees, the Rehoboth Beach Boys and Girls Club Unit Board, and the Big Fish Charitable Foundation.
J. Gregory Ellis
Greg Ellis, CCIM, is a founder of Rockford Capital Partners and brings more than 19 years experience in commercial real estate. He is also a Principal of Patterson-Woods Commercial Properties/CORFAC International, a leading commercial real estate services firm specializing in the Mid-Atlantic commercial property markets.
Previously, Greg worked for 10 years for MBNA America Bank, N.A. in corporate real estate, facilities management, and business development. During part of his time at MBNA, Greg served as an executive-on-loan to Wilmington Renaissance where he was responsible for locating, purchasing, and renovating new headquarters facilities for Wilmington Renaissance and Downtown Visions.
Greg is a member of several real estate organizations in Delaware. He previously served as President of the Commercial-Industrial Real Estate Council (CIRC) of New Castle Delaware and currently is the Chair of the Legislative Committee. He is the Secretary of The Committee of 100 and a board member of the Delaware Association of REALTORS ®, and immediate Past President of Tri-State REALTORS ® Commercial Alliance.
Greg graduated with a B.A. in Economics from Duke University and pursued graduate studies in real estate at Johns Hopkins University.
Drew Hamilton is currently an associate at Rockford Capital. Previously, Drew worked for two years on the real estate investment platform of JP Morgan Asset Management, serving as a junior asset manager and overseeing multifamily investments and developments in Washington DC and Maryland (~2,500 units, $850M GAV). Drew brings eight years of diverse financial industry experience to the team, which includes service at BlackRock, State Street, and Bloomberg. Drew graduated with a B.S. in Finance from The College of New Jersey.
